{"id":309,"date":"2008-01-01T12:00:40","date_gmt":"2008-01-01T11:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.xk140.nl\/wordpress\/?p=309"},"modified":"2014-12-22T20:30:12","modified_gmt":"2014-12-22T19:30:12","slug":"dos-and-donts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/xk140.nl\/wordpress\/?p=309","title":{"rendered":"Do\u2019s and Dont\u2019s"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>Do\u2019s<\/strong><\/h1>\n<ol>\n<li>Make a lot of pictures from the disassembling and assembling process.<\/li>\n<li>Only buy bearings from the original brand (e.g. Timken)<\/li>\n<li>Buy all rubber parts from a good quality (e.g. Metalastik)<\/li>\n<li>Keep the body mounted onto the chassis during welding activities on the body to prevent warping or twisting of the structure<\/li>\n<li>Keep track of all spacers placed between chassis and body and make sure they are placed back on the same location.<br \/>\nThe spacers all look the same but they are all customized for the specific location.<\/li>\n<li>Make identification marks before removing the bearing caps from crankshaft and camshafts.<br \/>\nIt is a very expensive job to fix this afterwards.<\/li>\n<li>For replacing parts I use the 70% rule;<\/li>\n<li>a) \u00a0if the basis material is less then 70% replace with new sheet metal (complete or partly)<br \/>\nb) If the basis material is better then 70% repair and keep the original sheet metal<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><strong>Dont\u2019s<\/strong><\/h1>\n<ol>\n<li>Be careful with dissembling the pinion and crown gears from differential casing.<br \/>\nThis job can only be done by specialists, and is not always needed.<\/li>\n<li>Be careful with removing the hubs from the rear axle. Don\u2019t use pulling devices which attaches on the outside of the hubs, it better to use one connected to the wheel mounting studs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do\u2019s Make a lot of pictures from the disassembling and assembling process.
