The dirt and crease was already removed before it went to this company. The outside of the block can now be sprayed with special engine paint (MOTIP engine\u00a0paint black gloss) which can withstand 150 degrees.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/xk140.nl\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/EnginePainted.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-851\" src=\"http:\/\/xk140.nl\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/EnginePainted-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Engine Painted\" width=\"698\" height=\"523\" srcset=\"https:\/\/xk140.nl\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/EnginePainted-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/xk140.nl\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/EnginePainted-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/xk140.nl\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/EnginePainted.jpg 1306w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 698px) 100vw, 698px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Due to experience from other XK restorers (replaced freeze plugs came loose) I\u00a0decided to leave the\u00a0freeze plug in place because they still look and feel very thick (it was not possible to make dents in them with a hammer). On the original block there where also no signs of leakage.
